Methylene Blue Infusion Therapy Q & A

WHAT IS METHYLENE BLUE?

Methylene Blue (MB) is a compound with a long medical history, originally used to treat methemoglobinemia. More recently, low-dose IV Methylene Blue is being explored for its role in mitochondrial support, neuroprotection, and cognitive enhancement. It acts as an alternative electron carrier in the mitochondrial respiratory chain, helping increase cellular ATP production and reduce oxidative stress.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

✔ Enhances mitochondrial function and ATP production
✔ Supports cognitive clarity, focus, and memory
✔ Provides antioxidant and neuroprotective effects
✔ May improve energy and mental stamina
✔ Mild antimicrobial and antiviral properties

WHAT IS NEXT?

We start with a low dose (e.g., 0.5–1 mg/kg) to assess individual tolerability, particularly with regard to mood, cognition, and side effects. Dosing and infusion frequency will be personalized based on your health profile and treatment goals.

Examples of Uses:
General Wellness and Longevity: Low dose MB as part of a mitochondrial support stack with NAD+ and glutathione. Supports cellular efficiency and cognitive maintenance.
Cognitive Optimization and Neuroprotection: Used in patients experiencing brain fog, memory issues, or high cognitive demands. Often paired with NAD+ and Vitamin C for synergistic neuroprotection.
Fatigue and Energy Enhancement: MB may increase cerebral oxygen use and mitochondrial output, especially when combined with NAD+.

FREQUENCY

Typically, treatments are administered once weekly or biweekly during the active phase, followed by monthly maintenance; however, these sessions must be personalized and closely monitored for neurological or serotonergic effects.

WHAT TO EXPECT

On the day of your infusion:
· Hydrate well and avoid serotonergic medications unless cleared by your Physician.
· Physician will monitor your response during and after the infusion.
· Infusions may take 30–60 minutes, depending on dose and protocol.

Note: Methylene Blue causes temporary blue discoloration of urine and occasionally stool or skin—this is expected and harmless.
